Helvetin Hyvä Mutta Aika Perkeleen Tumma Black Metal Ale
A dark beer with a very cool Finnish name! Ronald, our brewer has been living in Finland for almost 30 years and he thought it was time to give a beer a Finnish name. The beer is ink black, matching the dark winter months in Scandinavia. Heavy Metal and Black Metal are very popular in Finland and the Finns are very proud of that. That music style also fits the climate and the rugged landscape. The term "Helvitin Hyvä" sounds very devilish and hellish, but it is a well-known expression in Finland that means "Very Good" or in English "F**king Good!"
The beer is brewed with 6 hop varieties, 6 malt varieties and has been hopped 6 times! For the alcohol content, we have also chosen to give the beer 6.66% abv!
This Black Metal Ale is heading towards an Imperial Black IPA. It has a firm bitterness and the smell is very impressive. In this beer we used a lot of hops, which you notice in the complex smell. The aroma of licorice, herbs, raisins, forest scents and fruit are examples of what you will find in the smell and taste. A hint of coffee and chocolate can also be tasted in the long aftertaste. And yet this beer also remains very fresh despite all those dark sensations. So you can drink this beer with your "Head Banging friends"!

Style description: What exactly is a Black Metal Ale?
We have chosen to creatively call this beer a Black Metal Ale. We play here with the music style Black Metal and the beer style Black IPA. This beer is heading towards an Imperial Black IPA. The alcohol percentage is slightly lower than in the usual Imperial style, but the amount of hops is just as high.
Black IPA should be bitter like an IPA and despite the black color of roasted malt, this beer should also remain fresh to drink. It should not taste like porter or stout. A porter and stout are much heavier in taste and smell in coffee and chocolate than this beer.
A Black IPA is a fairly difficult beer to brew. You have to think very carefully about your choice of malt to make this beer drink fresh. With this Black IPA you will have a lot to discover and enjoy the complex hop scents and malt flavors!
